Again not sure if this is the right genre for these guys, but their sound changed alot over their career. I always loved Denis D'amor's dischordant guitar playing the interesting song structures. One of my favorate bands. Here are some samples

From 1987:

From 1995:

And in 2006:

The bands history is quite convoluted

Prog Thrash. Definitely the wrong board for these guys.

It just depends on which albums you listen to. My 2 favorate albums are Nothingface and Phobos!

The first three (War and Pain, Roooooaaarr, Killing Technology) definately old school thrash.

Four and Five ;(Dimention Hatross, Nothingface) prog metal.

Six and Seven (Angel Rat, Outer Limits) progressive, but almost hard rock.

Then Eight & Nine (Negatron, Phobos) are with Eric Forrest and are HEAVY. Back to the old thrash, but more vicious, less prog IMHO.

Then the remix album and the live one.

Then the Newsted line-up for (Voivod,Katorz,Infini), which is pretty much hard rock.

So really, where do they fit?
