Hi, I'm Jake, and I'm terrible at introduction posts. Not only can I never think of anything interesting (or truly relevant, for that matter) to say, but I feel like I have to try to be formal to some extent.

I hate being formal.

Oh look. There's a fact about me. You know something about me already. Let's see what else I can reveal to you guys...

I'm
- generally a nice guy, but I can be a bit of a prick.
- a bit neurotic, so you'll have to excuse me if I make little sense sometimes.
- a self-proclaimed genre Nazi. Misclassifications bother me quite a bit.
- a core/nu/groove hater. Sorry, but too often they're overcommercialized shit.
- a lover of most kinds of Metal. Aside from those that I mentioned above, of course. And Gothic. I can't stand most Gothic Metal.
- 17 years old. An arbitrary fact.
- perfectly willing to take recommendations from other members. I love discovering good, new music.

That's it, for the most part. If there's anything else you'd like to know about me, feel free to ask.

It's too bad I didn't read this first. I see I have incurred the wrath of misclassification. Correct me if you feel you must. I definately agree alot of what people call nu/core/whatever is commercialized. I do like it when bands are allowed to express themselves without being distorted by money-hungry lables that like to pander to the lowest common denominator (don't get me started!). I do feel that metal is one of the few unspoiled frontiers of music where many bands are not constrained by trends or standards and are allowed to keep thier artistic integrity! They are loved (or hated) simply for the merits of what they (the bands) truly are. Not many styles of music have this freedom... Sorry for ranting.
