Children of Bodom, the first band I ever listened as true Death Metal .. I was like.. 13 yo back then :p

I love children of bodom, I dowloaded their discography! Their intro is so good in this song! They're pretty awesome! The vocals really kick ass!

Yes i think so, too. in there newest album they also have thrash elements and i hope that will be in the next album, too. I have read that the next album will come this year

These guys are awesome, Living dead beat is a good song, i listened to them when i was about 14, definitely in my top 20....hope they come here.

Children of Bodom are Power Metal, guys. The only thing they have that's atypical of Power Metal is the harsh vocals. There's a bit of a Melodeath influence on the Something Wild album, but not much. I'm really not sure why they ever got labeled a Melodeath band.
Anyway, aside from the whole genre thing...
In my opinion, they basically went to shit after Follow the Reaper. Hate Crew had a few good tracks, but not much else. Are You Dead Yet and Blooddrunk are too terrible to fathom.

Are you serious?...Melodic death metal....
Power metal bands do not incorporate a keyboard, period...
Their songs have a melody to them, with the mixture of the keyboard and riffs.
There power chords have a grungy theme - they are not clear enough to be power metal
Vocals are no where near power metal, period...
Children of bodom = Melodic death metal/ grunge metal / thrash metal / symphonic death metal ... whether you agree or not, thats how it is.

These guys are the best POWER METAL band today. Just take is that Kevin and I are 99% of the time right, you are new here, so i would keep quite for the time being, or until you figure the difference between Power and Melodic death metal. Seriously man the differences are obvious, very.

Yeah; don't think they can be classified as power metal. Went to a concert from them a while ago; if you think they are good on album wait till you see them live. Amazing show!

I am going to see them soon. November the 10th they are playing here in Melbourne, Australia and this will be my first official over 18's concert cannot wait, i have heard good things about them playing live.
