Stratovarius ; Symphonic power metal

Hi folks!
I thought; let's post something again.
And here is the very awesome power metal band; Stratovarius (1984 - Finland).
Current line-up;
Timo Kotipelto - Vocals
Matias Kupiainen - Guitar
Jens Johansson - Keyboards
Lauri Porra - Bass
Jörg Michael - Drums

There are two things that give me chills about this band; Their artwork (FA-BOU-LOUS) and their songs
I like the lyrics, intros and bridges (solos).
They have 12 (!) CDs, 2 Live-albums, 2 demos, 16 singles, 4 best-of compilations and 1 DVD (rated with average 86%)
In general I give this band 8.5/10.
For my fav song; Eagleheart, I give 9/10.


Soul of a vagabond -- 8/10.


Eagleheart -- Goosebumps intro -- 9/10


Cold winter nights -- 8.5/10


Black night -- 7.5/10

lol... was one of the first metalbands i was a fan of... still have a shirt of them with Timo Tolkki on guitar.....

Major fan of them, or at least was... haven't listened to them in quite some time, but perhaps i shall soon again.

Kinda got in a fight with Timo Tolkki on their forums quite a while ago which was the reason to stop participating on their forums.

Try Black Diamond or the best song from then (in my opinion) "infinity".

By the way , respond to my Kamelot post, try and listen to them!

They actually were one of the first metal bands I checked out.
I saw their performance @ Wacken 2007 and I pretty much loved it.
But I never really got that into them though. (since I'm not very into power metal)

I know Kamelot (Epica which I'm fan of -- Simone Simons -- The haunting)
Black Diamond is indeed a good song and Infinity as well, I bought a limited edition (I guess) from them; infinity

They've just been playing at Wacken 2010 I guess...
But yeah anyway...I'd like to go to Wacken again too...maybe in 2011...i hope so.

Yes, I'm sure. I saw their ending movie and Apocalyptica will go as well. You need to check the site out.
I would like to go there too, It's a very big festival.

This was actually first band I listened to when I didn't even know that I would listen to metal one day. My favorite track is "Father time", definitely.

these guys are really amazing i have them and timo's side project on endless replay in my car
met the band last year really quite group while they were here . lol it was funny i was unknowingly talking to the drummer for like 30min before show and when i went in for meet and greet there he was xD tripped me out
