(but just to let you know: The lists of the bands are just meant to show which bands are already covered with a thread (to just check if a thread already exists, you know). But in the past there was a lot of confusion 'bout that, so it's our fault for not declaring better.
But we'll gonna remove the lists soon I guess, there's just too much confusion.
We got a kickass search function on the left hand side in the widget and it's pretty easy to check if a thread already exists. So i gotta only add an anouncement that everybody has to check before opening a thread that the band does not already have a thread.

I think generally it'd be a good idea to have a correct list of bands in each section though, not just ones that have been covered by a thread. Threads will die eventually.
I'd be more than happy to post them up and add a lot more. Of course suggestions can be made in each thread but at first we could just start off with the necessities. Lists are helpful when people want to find new bands in a certain genre or just check what genre a certain band are. Also the lists already posted in each section are quite short and very inaccurate, so having something more specified to each genre, longer, and with links will definitely give the forum a better appearance.

Genre is always a problem, especially now there are so many very specialized and specific genres. Just quickly looking though your list I found two I disagreed with. Rush although my favorate band are not metal. Never were, never will be. Galactic Cowboys started out a Christian Metal band (I really liked the first 2 albums), not prog. And another fave SYL was only industial on the very first album (because it really was a Devin Townsend solo album that he later hired a band to perform with), I would say SYL is just extreme metal. There is the odd band that defies desciption ; what genre is Skindred? But these are my opinions and I'm sure there would be many that would agree, and many that would disagree. I just don't like specific genres, just the umbrella one we all love called METAL!!!!!!

I do love the list! Thought about alot of albums as I purused it. Maybe a similar list could be used for the sticky topic and a simple notation beside the band wheather there is a thread or not. Just a thought ...
